Ok, so some of you may have seen this stuff before but it’s pretty cool! I’m used to seeing stunts on a bike or skateboard but only with the human body? Impressive.

From the Jamaica Gleaner online:
I don’t like to complain about the hot weather when we get it here in Washington state but I sure wish I had a fan on days like yesterday. According to weather.com, the last two days hit 87F (31C). I spent a lot of yesterday inside but still with very little breeze it got quite warm. Well, I did something I don’t think I’ve done since last year when I was in Jamaica for vacation. I took a cold shower. As I remember, it’s the first 10-20 seconds that really cut your breath out of your lungs. It was quite a shock but as I turned around and let the water hit my still-warm back I could feel my core body temp come down. After a few minutes it’s really not too bad and actually feels good. I left my hair wet as well when I got out and then when the very little breeze does make it into the room it keeps me cool. Glad I have some coping skills for the few times I need to adjust to warm weather.
I was listening to Fresh Air on NPR yesterday evening and heard Michael Gazzaniga refer to The Trolley Problem. For some reason this kind of experiment really interested me so I wanted to share. Basically, it’s a test to see how people respond to ethical issues.
Well, this is an interesting question. Do you let one die to save five? Ponder that for a few minutes… and then move on to the second part.
Well? If you decided it was ok for one to die to save five then what do you think about this one where you actually have to push the fat man? Is it different? What do you think?
Family Camping Trip ’08!!!! Well, I was pretty excited about this one because I haven’t been able to go regularly since my last job required me to work a lot through the summer especially. Now that I have a regular 9-to-5 job I have my weekends free. So I was stoked about going and seeing a lot of relatives that I hadn’t seen in a while. Unfortunately a couple of the regulars didn’t show up this year but we still had a good time. Having only 3 males there including myself meant I brought way too much beer so I took that back home. I did get to see my cousin Tessa’s “new” baby again who is toddling around now almost walking on her own. The baby’s cousin was there as well and it really is nice to have some children around again; even if they wake up crying in the middle of the night from time to time. haha. Got a couple walks in, a float around the lake in a kayak, and one of the things I enjoy the most which is sleeping outside in the nice fresh air. I have to thank my mom for letting me use her nice kayak since my aunt’s has a weight limit that I am just a wee bit over. And thanks to Lael for setting it up this year. There were a few complaints about the state of the group camp site at Deception Pass State Park which could have been better but I won’t elaborate on those here. Seeing the people was the best part for me so without further adieu I will share some of the photos:
